Dreaming of the Perfect Brow

Sally has been performing the art of permanent cosmetic makeup for over 25 years with various methods of application. Initially, this process started with the soft-tap procedure using a hand-held tool to deposit pigment into the skin. Specifically made cosmetic machines, came into the market to create powder-mist brows which resembles a shadow or light pencil. The next rapid industry growth was micro-blading/ feather stroking, using a series of mini-blades in a hand-held tool to create hair-like pigment incisions into the skin. Sally has recently attended an internationally led masterclass only available for qualified permanent makeup artists. The teaching involved the newer and more advanced hybrid eyebrow techniques: a combination of machine hair-strokes filling in sparse spots and ombre micro-shading creating pixilated dots building from light to darker at the arch and tail of the brow.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Tattoo Brows

I want my eyebrows to look great! What is the first step?

Book a consultation appointment to discuss your health and skin history and the procedure. You can request a patch-test of the anesthetic and ink. Alternatively, email and request a consultation form, also attaching a makeup-free photo of your brows.

What do I expect on the day of my appointment?

Skin numbing, brow measuring, mapping, and the balancing assessment will begin. A personalised colour is selected, complementing your natural colouring, and existing brow. Every step of the way consultation is key to the successful outcome and photos are taken before and after. Next step is the implanting of ink into the top dermal and epidermal layers of skin. Another numbing agent will be applied to keep sensation to a minimum. Playing safe, the initial session of the pigment application ensures choices for the next meeting. The aim is to give you a naturally beautiful, blended brow requiring low maintenance. Please allow up to three hours for this appointment.

Can I go back to work after the brow application?

The brow will appear darker and a little bolder than may be desired in the first few days and weeks until the epidermal cells go through their natural cycle. Some people are happy that this fading happens, while others can be disappointed because they love the result, and this is why the focus treatment is an important step.

Do I need more than one session?

Yes, you need at least another follow-up focus session. The timeframe between appointments is six weeks, which we recommend to book in advance.

Will I have my eyebrows tinted?

We are implanting colour into the skin and not the hair, so have your tinting done one to two weeks before the cosmetic tattoo procedure.

Can everybody enjoy this treatment?

The short answer is no. More people can have machine hair stroke, and ombre brows and fewer skins are suited to micro-blading including oily or fragile sun-damaged skins. Some medications, exceptionally not compatible with the procedure, are Accutane, Doxycycline, and any medications that thin the skin and blood. Some diseases that inhibit proper skin healing, such as diabetes, will hinder you from having treatment as well. We do not treat pregnant women and will only work on women who are breastfeeding if they can pump and dispose of the milk for at least 48 hours after treatment.

Are you dreaming of more perfect brows that add a youthful frame to the face, beauty, and aid simplicity of your makeup routine? People with limited vision also greatly benefit from having their eyebrows permanently created. When we talk ‘permanent’ we are really saying that these brows last from one to three years depending on your biological system and lifestyle. Talk to Sally to see if the next generation of permanent makeup will work for you.
